Azimuth

Panner/Stereo Balance/Cross Fader/Dual VCA in 8HP

-uses high quality THATcorp VCA chips
-implements panning using a  unique constant power panning circuit
(most accurate method for controlling sound placement in a stereo
image).
-High dynamic range for VCA gain with 0-5V giving approximately -80db to +3dB
-Separate inputs for bipolar and unipolar control of the Panning/XFading
-Jumper on PCB to select bipolar voltage range: either +/-2.5V or +/-5V
-Unique Vactrol based Stereo Width circuit: Used with stereo signals
to vary the perceived stereo width from mono to stereo and slightly
beyond using negative cross bleed.
-Bypass switch to disable the Width circuit
-Dedicated attenuator for the bipolar pan cv source.

Modes (determined via the jack normalizing/patching and mode switch)

Panner:
-With audio connected to the Left Input, panning control steers the
signal to the Left or Right output using constant power panning.

Stereo Balance:
-With  a stereo audio source plugged in to the Left and Right inputs,
panning controls the balance between these two sources using constant
power panning.

Crossfading:
-With two audio sources patched into the Left and Right inputs
respectively the panning controls now act as crossfade controls. The
resultant signal is is routed to the Left Output.

VCAs:
-With the Pan control centered and the VCA gain knobs fully CCW this
modules becomes a dual exponential VCA
-Separate L and R VCA CV controls but there is also a "both" control
for using a single CV source to control the VCAs in stereo.

Max Current: max. 90mA
Depth: 35mm

HexVCA

Six VCA with Summing in 8HP

-Extremely compact high density multi VCA module
-Use very high quality, low noise and super fast THATcorp VCA chips
(exponential response)
-LEDs for monitoring the CV control on each channel (also color coded
to match the channel order of the Mutagen)
-High Dynamic range: -80dB to 0dB with 0-5V control signal
-6 Trim pots on rear of PCB in order to preset attenuation for the CV
(change the dB/V attenuation ratio)
-6 offset knobs for manually adjusting the gain of each VCA. You can
use this to offset the VCA so that you can use bipolar CV sources like
LFO/VCO
-DC coupled inputs accept CV or Audio
-Sum and Inverted Sum outputs: preset with -6dB attenuation in order
to give more headroom for overall mix. Each discrete output is
normalled to the SUM bus, patching into a discrete output will remove
that output from the mix.
-Special 12pin header on the PCB allows the 6 outputs to be normalled
to the six inputs of the Intellijel Mutagen via a ribbon cable.

Max Current Draw: max. 80mA
Depth: 35mm

Mutagen

6x3 Performance Mixer in 12HP

-very low noise and crosstalk between channels
-uses high quality Analog Devices switch ICs for mute circuit
-6 DC coupled inputs (accept audio and CV)
-3 BUS outputs A, B and C with Master volume control on A and C.
-Comes with a 12pin ribbon cable and a header for connecting to the
Intellijel HexVCA. This normals the six HexVCA outputs to the inputs
of the Mutagen.

Each channel has the following features:
-Attenuator control
-Slide switch to select bus output A, B or C
-Mute button (manually mute/unmute each track)
-CTL jack for external control of mute.
*Muting control can either by by trigger pulse (toggles the mute
on/off) or gated (when gate signal is high, mute active). This is
selectable via a jumper on the rear of the PCB.
-External mute signal can be any signal, not just square wave but must
have some kind of positive rising edge (e,.g. not noise).

Example Uses:
-Performance mixing and jamming: Quickly mute/unmute and mix different
audio parts and CV sources
-Experimental sequencing: feed cv pitch values, gate/clock sources and
audio to the different channels and control the muting buses via gate
sequencers, lfos and other CV sources for algorithmic compositions.
-Mixes with FX routing: Subgroup selected audio channels to one of the
bus outputs and route that bus to an FX chain and then return it to a
different channel of the Mutagen (set to a different bus output).

µAtt

Quad log/lin attenuator in 4hp

the μatt is a quad passive attenuator in just 4hp. on the back of the module are 4 jumpers. each one allows you to select if that channel has a log or linear response (log is nicer for controlling audio volume while linear is better for cv levels).

since the module is passive it requires 0ma of current draw.

µScale

CV quantizer and musical interval generator in 4hp.

it has the following features:

12 buttons with matching dual color leds for selecting scale notes in real time (and visual feedback of quantizing).
processes 0-10v (as 1v/oct) in the 'in' input.
accepts 0-10v or ±5v on the 'shift' input (jumper selectable) for a shift range of ±12semitones or ±12 scale degrees.
two 0-10v outputs (a and b) with 1v/oct scaling.
output b is a user selectable interval based on the root note on output a. this interval can be chromatic (fixed semitones) or diatonic (interval is within the current scale and the value is based on scale degrees). this interval can be a bipolar value of ±12.
shift has user selectable destinations of note a, b, a+b or the scale root.
shift has user selectable modes of where shifting occurs: before scaling, in scale (diatonic) or post scale (key shifting).
menu for shifting the scale root manually.
special 'scale shift" mode allows the "shift" input to select scales from the current bank (so 12 scales can be selected by cv).
can store 12 scales in 12 banks for a total of 144 different user scales.
module ships with 5 banks preloaded with scales (they can be erased by the user and reprogrammed).
precision trimmers on pcb for fine tuning and scaling the two outputs.

this is a highly versatile and very musical device for creating interesting, beautiful and harmonious musical riffs from just about any analog cv sources. please see the demo videos to get a taste of some of the creative things you can do with this module.

µMod

Four quadrant multiplying modulator (aka ring mod) in 4 hp.

Features:

dedicated ac and dc inputs (all four can be used at the same time).
attenuators for x and y input groups.
polarity switches for x and y inputs (positive, negative or both).
a unique 'q' control which stands for "quadrant" which allows you to shift the multiplication into positive or negative quadrants.
very low leakage from x input (when q is in center).
changing the q value in fm adds the signal frequencies back into the sum+difference frequencies (typical output of a rigmod) which adds richness to the classic ringmod sound and allows for many variations of bell tones, chimes and mallet-type timbres.
it can be used as a linear vca.
great for waveshaping (especially two synced audio sources).
excellent for cv mangling (use the dc inputs and play with the rectifier switches).
connecting cv sources to the ac inputs results in interesting lag effects.

The Mind Meld M01 rev B is an 8HP expansion module for the Livewire Vulcan dual LFO.
It provides swtiched waveform source selection of the Vulcans logic circuits: MAX, MIN, SUM and DIFF. Additionally each of these normalled inputs can be broken and an external signal can be injected via the input jacks.

There are also two jacks for pulse inputs to reset the the Vulcans dual LFOs. Jack A is normalled to Jack B so that both LFOs can be reset at the same time or you can break the normal and supply a seperate reset signal to LFO B.

NOTE: To add reset functionality to the Vulcan you will be required to solder two wires to the Vulcan PCB. This may cause your Vulcan warranty to be voided. If you do not want to take the risk you can choose not to implement this functionality
